Tecsint PSOM
Greater Uniformity
Reduced Vein Effect
TECSINT PSOM can be used under the same conditions as TECSINT PSO at the end of the pickling phase, delivering similar results but slightly lightening the wet-blue color.
During the rewetting phase of wet-blue, it enhances the process. If there are issues with dry creases caused by old or dry wet-blue, TECSINT PSOM improves fiber relaxation, preventing wrinkling in crust leather.
Its most advantageous use is in chrome retanning, before adding chrome or synthetic chrome. This results in higher chrome fixation on the leather, leading to bath exhaustion and significantly lower chrome concentrations in the baths. The leather becomes fuller and smoother, with reduced vein visibility after finishing.
In subsequent phases, products such as resins, retanning agents, fatliquors, and dyes will bond more effectively with the leather fibers. This allows for reduced product usage, improved bath exhaustion, and more uniform leather in terms of firmness, dye penetration, and a cleaner, more even, and vibrant coloration.
TECSINT PSOM can also be used as a dispersing agent in synthetic or vegetable retanning. Adding 2% to 5% after neutralization aids the distribution of retanning agents, prevents excessive grain loading, and improves bath exhaustion during fixation.
When used in the fatliquoring phase, it acts as a dispersing and penetrating agent for fatliquors while also providing a filling effect similar to a filler, enhancing side fullness.
